Normally I would assume that it's just old age, but it's the fact that this only started happening recently that makes it so weird.

Despite her heavy use of the handheld, she has taken very good care of it, and up until about a month ago, it functioned just like new.

I have tested all her cartridges with two other systems, and they all work fine, so it is definitely the DS itself that is causing this.

Additionally, the speakers rarely work properly, and only produce random buzzing noises most of the time.

The screen also blacks out randomly during play, there are disappearing horizontal lines all over the top screen, and the touch screen is very unresponsive and is red-tinted.
