The vehicle bottoms out when going over a bump or dip in the road

The damping characteristics of shocks and struts diminish slowly over time, making it difficult to detect a problem. Not all vehicles have both shocks and struts; some only have one or the other. Some need replacement at 30,000 miles, and others can go as long as 60,000 miles.

When i was little.. maybe 7 yrs old my cousin's father used to do weird things to me like sitting me on his lap and sticking fingers in me and making me hump his leg but i had no idea how bad it actually was until now.
