Turn this feature off for the biggest power-draining offenders

All you need to do to solve 95% of these app woes is delete the troublesome app and then reinstall it. If this is the case, go to Settings > General> Background App Refresh. Go to Settings > Battery. To do this, Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts.
