The real work and the real challenges begin there

The buck stops with the chef de mission. The officials function in the midstream in this process and organisationally provide indirect contact with the athletes daily. This, in itself, is a delicate matter. There have been public complaints in the past about the number of officials attending, given the size of the delegation.
