It was tough in the way a lot of conferences were tough in the early years of my PhD

The last Logic Colloquium I went to was the one in Nimegen, back in 2006, I believe. Did I want to admit I'd have no one to eat with and simply go to one of the restaurants nearby? The last time we'd seen each other was at LC Nijmegen, a decade ago. If there is one thing I could go back and tell 10-years-ago me, it would be that that's not true.
